Business Development Manager
Communication & Media Manoeuvres (CMM)

Who are you?

 

You will more than likely come from a background of selling professional development programmes at the senior level. You like complex conversations where the need isn’t always obvious at first - because the risk is often hidden behind confidence, reputation, stakeholder pressure, media exposure, or a leader who’s been promoted faster than their communication skills have caught up.

 

You’re someone who can open doors with calm authority and move people from “we’re fine” to “we can’t afford to leave this to chance”.

 

A good week for you includes:

 

  • Reconnecting with your network and reactivating relationships with smart timing and respectful persistence
  • Doing proactive outreach that creates curiosity without being pushy
  • Running sharp discovery calls where you listen for stakes: reputation, risk, confidence, influence, credibility and performance under pressure
  • Shaping tailored program pathways that make the decision simple and the outcome obvious
  • Progressing multiple opportunities through a considered sales cycle, without losing momentum or warmth
  • Building relationships that turn into years of repeat engagement

 

The opportunity

 

This is a true sales role. Your mission is to grow revenue by selling CMM’s executive communication programs into organisations that want leaders who can influence, persuade, and perform under pressure.

 

You’ll lead business development for CMM’s flagship program The Executive Communicator™ - and related offerings - introducing leaders and leadership teams to a clear pathway that lifts presence, credibility, message discipline and stakeholder impact.

 

What you’ll be selling

 

CMM delivers modular executive programs that can be tailored to a leader’s actual forums and real-world pressures - stakeholders, media, crisis, presentations, inquiries, and on-camera/online environments.

 

  • The Executive Communicator™ can be structured for individuals or small groups and built as a practical, outcomes-driven pathway that may include:
  • Executive stakeholder communications & key messaging – clarifying influence priorities, mapping stakeholders, developing key messages, and building confidence under questioning
  • Presenting with presence, power and persuasion – structuring content that lands, delivering with authority, and performing in rooms that matter
  • Workshop facilitation & moderation – running high-stakes sessions with control, clarity and momentum
  • Senior executive media skills – preparing for interviews, staying on message, controlling the conversation, and strengthening credibility under scrutiny
  • Senior executive crisis media skills – handling high-pressure scenarios with calm authority and structured response frameworks
  • Senate Estimates / Government inquiry performance preparation – research, rehearsal and simulation-based preparation for intense public hearings and hostile questioning

 

These are premium engagements. You’re not selling a “course”; you’re selling a transformation in how leaders show up - and how organisations are perceived when it counts.

  • Sales cycle: typically 4 weeks to 3 months
  • Location: Melbourne CBD (Collins St) with hybrid flexibility
