We are currently seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a part-time eyewear consultant/receptionist. If you’re a self-motivated individual with exceptional customer service skills and a sense of style, we want to hear from you! Optical experience is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet patients with a smile.
  • Answer the phone, book appointments, tend to emails, filing and scanning and other administrative duties.
  • Assist patients in selecting appropriate frames and sunglasses, considering their visual needs, prescription requirements, and personal style preferences.
  • Provide professional advice and recommendations on lens options to optimise vision and enhance the overall eyewear experience.
  • Conduct frame adjustments, repairs, and minor maintenance, ensuring optimal fit and comfort for patients.
  • Place and track orders for lenses, frames, and other eyewear accessories, coordinating with external suppliers and maintaining inventory control.
  • Collaborate effectively with the optometrists, support staff, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Previous optical experience is required.
  • Previous experience as receptionist or customer service/retail assistant ideal but not essential.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive and friendly demeanour.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment and is able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
