Finance and Business Support Officer
Australian Cabinet & Furniture Association

 

Our client, The Australian Cabinet and Furniture Association (ACFA) is a not-for-profit industry body supporting the furnishing, cabinet making, kitchen, and joinery sectors. They provide accredited training, workplace relations support, industry advocacy, and member resources. ACFA also hosts awards and conferences to recognise achievements and share industry insights.

 

 

And that's where you come in!

 

Right now we've been charged with finding just the right individual to join ACFA in the capacity of Finance and Business Support Officer.

 

 

So, who are you?

 

Well, aside from 3 years in accounting, finance or significant finance management experience, it's likely that people describe you as:

  • Task-focused and comfortable with multi-tasking

  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a team environment
  • Somebody that has a high regard for policies and procedures

Additionally, being familiar with not-for-profit or membership-based/RTO organisations is desirable but not essential, and experience working with grant funding or financial reporting for funded programs will be highly regarded.

 

The role

 

The Finance and Business Support Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, maintaining efficient financial processes, and supporting the CEO in strategic financial planning. You'll play a crucial role in managing financial operations and providing strategic financial insights to the CEO. The role ensures financial sustainability, compliance, and efficiency within the organisation.

 

Some of the key achievements include:

  • Accurate Financial Management: Ensuring financial records are up-to-date, compliant, and reflect the organisation’s financial position.

  • Effective Budgeting and Reporting: Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support decision-making.

  • Process Efficiency: Identifying and implementing improvements to financial and administrative workflows.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring financial processes align with statutory obligations and internal policies.

  • Business Support: Providing financial insights and administrative support to the CEO for strategic planning and resource allocation.

Ultimately, the role supports the organisation in achieving financial stability and operational excellence.
